Ordinary Life

It’s been a hectic week. Hence no updates in like seven days - like you’re counting. For those of you who read this regularly (and I know for a fact that no such ppl exist!), I usually cannot write in here Mondays and Tuesdays. Those are Troy’s days off and I don’t want to risk him finding me out.

Wednesday should be a pretty regular day for my updates - but this week I had to go to choir practice Tuesday night, which meant that was forced to miss my favorite show, Party of Five. After several frantic phone calls at work on Tuesday, I found my wonderful cousin to tape my show for me. Wednesday I was treated to a double dose of POF - the new show on its new night, and the tape from the previous night. So naturally I had no time for journal writing. This morning I was so tired from all these goings on - I woke up late for work and ended up getting there fifteen minutes late. It’s amazing how much heavier the traffic gets if you leave just a few minutes later!

So that all leads up to today. It’s thursday and I just got home from church. Our saturday afternoon choir got elected to do the music for holy thursday - so that’s why church on Thursday. I know you were wondering. It’s late and I’m pretty tired so tonight this will be short.

News at work: Here’s the latest on the job situation. There’s this policy at work where they post the job openings for five days for internal applicants. After the five days has elapsed, the job becomes available to anyone. And that’s what got me screwed over the last time. I found out about the job late and the position went to the girl who applied on time, just because of the simple rule that any internal applicants must be considered first. It turns out that the job was posted on Friday - the first day of my vacation. I returned on Thursday, missing the deadline. I was under the assumption that the five days was always starting from a Monday. Apparently I was wrong.

But yesterday I got a call from HR for an interview. But I can’t tell if I’m being jerked around - if they’re interviewing me just for show, or if it’s legit and I actually have a shot at it. The interview is tomorrow afternoon. I scheduled it that way so I can get out of the office early on Friday afternoon.

After that there’s this surprise party that my family has to go to. It’s for this lady who’s son went to high school with me - our families have become good friends over the years. We have to sing a song on stage like the family von Trapp. I’m overjoyed about it.

Sleepytime.
