So I think I’m like almost the only person in the world who hasn’t seen this movie. I remember in college my roommate would talk about how much she loved it, and the other people in the dorm would chime in in agreeance. (No, we aren’t going to discuss the word again. It’s a word. Don’t argue.) Anyhow I read the book and liked it. It’s like make-believe (or was that make-pretend… It’s been a long time since I’ve watched mister rogers) that is really unbelievable, but then the story sucks you in and pretty soon you believe the animals really are talking.
They don’t talk, I’m referring to that movie with the talking animals - the pig, the dog, the cat - I don’t remeber what they were, but you know they don’t talk, and even if they did, would they all speak the same language?? So you know it’s not real, but after you get over that fact the movie gets you all envolved and you realize that the dog and the pig, they really do love each other.
Amazon has also taught me that S. Morganstern was totally made up by Goldman as part of the story. Didn’t see that coming. Here I was telling etc all about how Goldman abridged the story for his kid. Then I get to the amazon page when I finally sit down to write this and Bam! I’ve got the story all wrong. Silly, naive me.
