Hallowig!

October 6th, 2004

I started this yesterday and in all the knitting trendiness, have even joined my very first knit-along. See button to left. I responded to a poster in [knitlist] who requested green hallowigs for a major oompa loompa endeavor. Mostly I just wanted an excuse to make this adorable thing. designed by Megan Reardon, everyone’s favorite organized knitter.

I just started on the bangs.

After the CO 32 (I totally had to look up whatever the heck back loop cast on was! – from what I can tell, this cast on is the one referred to in SnB as “The Single Cast-on,” I had to stare at the piece for a Long Time. Not being used to using circs, I was inclined to start the bangs straight across the 32 that I just casted on. I’m pretty sure this is wrong, as the working yarn originates from that side, and that would leave a part… a slit sorta thing once I finally got back around to join. Instead I had to knit what seemed like upside-down, and resume my k2p2 on the hair that was already there.

It really is hard to explain knitting without SHOWING it!
