We Now Return

December 8th, 2004

So. With a sigh of relief I am now authorized to tell you the following: November is over. You thought it would be something really exciting, didn’t you? Well it kinda is. Because you see with the close of November comes the close of National Novel Writing Month, aka NaNoWriMo. And guess what. GUESS! I finished! This year marked my fourth attempt at the fifty thousand word hunk of novella, and finally FINALLY I have successfully completed it. In nanoese we say “I won the 2004 NaNoWriMo!” We also paste a WINNER! image on our websites, but there is something fishy going on with my /nfs mount somethingorother so I am unable to do so right now, as I sit here in the dining room, typing this on the laptop.

Surely I will fix that soon.

So when last you saw your beloved heroine, she was whining over someone else quitting the olj thing. Since then many things have happened. Here’s the short version:

I knit my first sock.
I started on the second one, which might end up being the first of a completely different pair because I’m really not all that pleased with the first one.
I read a book. But I didn’t actually finish it yet, so no, I haven’t written about it in the appropriate place.
I got a volunteer gig at one of those places where you aren’t really supposed to discuss what goes on, so I won’t.
I got another volunteer gig which isn’t top secret at all and is actually nearly done.
I am learning dvorak if for no other reason than to say that I can.
I wrote a book. (Well, ok, it’s just 50,000 words strung together semi-coherently into a story. We’re just going to go ahead and pretend it’s an actual book.)
Erin (and friends) wrote an actual book. You should pre-order.
And lastly (that I can think of) I have once again joined holidailies. Because I care that much.

Remember Pearl Harbor.
