So I don’t forget

July 30th, 2005

I really should be writing this on paper. The following is a list of things that I mean to write about in the near future. Or do in the near future. It started out as a list of writing topics. And turned into a list of things to do.

1. In july we took a trip to the farm. I rode a lawn mower and made funny lines in the grass. I’m no good at riding lawn mowers.

2. 43things.com is a neat website that many oljs have mentioned at one point or another. Today I checked it out and find that it’s nothing more than a data mining service, making money off a major demographic’s hopes and dreams. Of course, I couldn’t resist.

3. Amidst a conversation with myself that revolved around getting the kids to read more, I came across a great article on reading and why you need to do it regularly. Ignore the part where he tries to sell you stuff.

4. On the topic of reading and 43 things: There are people who have made it a goal to read 50 books in 2005. I fear that is a bit lofty for me, being that it’s now the end of July and I’m sure I am nowhere near 25 yet. Maybe next year I can shoot for 50. I’m trying to figure out what a good number would be. 25? 10? It needs to be challenging, but not unattainable.

5. Jim has trouble sticking to my budgetary requests.

6. But I still love him.

7. I need a library card. It’s very odd here. They CHARGE YOU MONEY for a library card!

8. Groceries. We need some.

9. My month of quiet has begun. Serenity now. It’s the summer of Jaime.
