Let the Holidaily-ing Commence!

True to my procrastinatory self, I am writing the obligatory “Welcome to Holidailies” entry a day late. For those of you who are new, I tend to sign up for holidailies every year. The first time I did it, I thought it might be a good idea because I had just bombed my very first Nanowrimo. Since then it’s become my own personal challenge: Fail Nanowrimo, and then try to make myself feel better about that by completing holidailies. I think I’ve been successful with holidailies once, maybe twice in the four years that I’ve participated. Due to webhosting disasters, none of the completed Decembers are still in the archives.
So, I’m assuming that some of you may be unfamiliar with the premise of Holidailies. Here’s the idea: Everyone who signs up vows to try really really hard to update every day in the month of December. Well, originally it was December. Now it’s shifted to December 7-January 6, which is fitting, being that January 6 is my birthday. Anyhow it’s supposed to be a gift to the reader. Even I know that you won’t likely want to read me every day. I slack off on reading my favorite sites all the time. (Pamie and Dooce tend to write way, way more than I can keep up with, even when it’s not December.) I don’t really expect you to read each and every December entry.
But, for those of you who, for whatever reason, still read me and find me so fascinating that you are unable to bring yourself to not read me daily, I give you the gift of me.
