At least I made it to the 20th!

December 20th, 2005

This is probably the longest I’ve managed to stay in the holidailies game. Tomorrow morning I’ll be kicked out. See I’m way behind in my posting. If I had posted every single day since the 7th, I should have 13 entries by now. This entry is my 9th. But really, I don’t think I’ve been able to keep up so well with holidailies in the past. Plus this time I have excellent excuses!

See I have this thing I like to call a job. That’s right, a job! I haven’t been able to say that in so long, and now here I am, saying that I have a job! In the morning I wake up and stumble downstairs and get dressed for my job! And I drive to my office building, where I park my car (free parking!) and go inside to my very own desk. It’s all very exciting. Most of it, at least. My monitor is brand new and smells like new plastic. (Exciting!) But my keyboard is recycled and they didn’t bother cleaning it and whoever had it before me drank coffee and ate lunch while typing. (Not exciting.)

Today was the second day of this job of mine. So far it’s exciting and fun. Oh, and that’s all I’m going to say about this job, other than the fact that I am very happy about finally having one, lest I get dooced.

Also, not really a distraction, but more news – today I got my Permanent Resident card. It’s totally official looking, and even came with its own “protective sleeve.” This card is so cool and shiny. The only thing not neat about it is my picture. The photographer said he wasn’t sure if I was allowed to smile (they don’t let you smile for your passport here) so he didn’t let me smile for the immigration photos. So now I have this really pretty pink Permanent Resident card with a grouchy looking picture of me.

So even though this is my farewell to the portal (maybe I’ll get lucky Jette will get lazy about round 2 tomorrow…) I do plan to keep up with holidailies at home. Wish me luck.
