First, here’s a photo of that soaker I was telling you about:

Do you see what that is? Maybe my photo isn’t quite clear enough, so I’ll go ahead and tell you what it is. It’s a Birch. You know, Rowan #34. The birch shawl that everyone in the internet knitting universe has made? Mine is almost done and as you can see by that there photo, I have only 15 stitches left on my needles! So why exactly am I taking photos and uploading them to my website and writing here, instead of finishing the darn thing? Because I ran out of yarn! Mmhmm, that’s right folks. Apparently the couple of feet that I chucked during my first couple of false starts (the yarn is seriously hard to rip once you get down to the cast on row,) was totally important and I really shouldn’t have gotten rid of it.

And of course I even recycled the ball bands. I have no idea what lot number this color came from. All I know is that this is Crystal Palace Kid Merino in a very pale pink color. All I need is like five feet of the stuff. Maybe ten, just to be safe. What a mess.

It Should Contain the Poop

I used to be really good about writing regularly in here. I’d say “time to write something,” and then I’d sit down and pick a topic out of thin air and write about it. It’s been years since I’ve been able to do that, but I’m a fan of the “if I really put my mind to it, I can do it,” mentality.
